Remembering Dr. Mary Ann Quaranta

Dr. Mary Ann Quaranta, of Larchmont, NY, died Wednesday, December 16, 2009.  Dean Emerita of the Fordham University Graduate School of Social Service, and former President of the National Association of Social Workers, was a social work pioneer, educator and leader in the profession.  She also served as Provost of Marymount College of Fordham University.  Mary Ann died at home surrounded by her loving family. Mary Ann Quaranta is survived by a sister, Eleanor O’Connor of Wisconsin; her two children and their spouses, Kevin J. Quaranta and Judy Quaranta, Mary Beth and Ed Morrissey; eight grandchildren, Mary Breda Morrissey, Kathleen Morrissey, Kerianne Morrissey, Teddy Morrissey, John Morrissey, Christina Quaranta, Kevin Quaranta, and William Quaranta.  Friends may call Thursday 7-9pm and Friday 2-5 and 7-9pm at Frank E. Campbell, 1076 Madison Ave. at 81st St. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 19th at the Fordham University Chapel at Rose Hill at 10am.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Fordham University or the Dr. Mary Ann Quaranta Collaborative for End of Life Care Fund.
