NASW Participates in Conference in South Africa

The conference “Strengthening the Social Welfare Workforce: Investing in those who care for children” is being held in Cape Town, South Africa (SA) this week.

Day 1
The conference started with opening remarks from US Ambassador to SA, Donald Gips. Also speaking on the first day was John Williamson, a well respected social worker who works with USAID. Williamson spoke about the systems that provide social welfare services to orphans and vulnerable children in African countries and the importance of a systems perspective as we try to stregthen the social welfare work force.
