National Coming Out Day – October 11, 2012

Oct 9, 2012

Every day, social workers  are  actively working to promote LGBT equity.  NASW and its chapters participate in coalition with other human rights, social action, and professional associations to advance the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender persons.  National Coming Out Day provides an opportunity to learn more about the diversity of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender communities.

Discrimination and prejudice directed against any group is damaging to the social, emotional, and economic well-being of the affected group and of society as a whole.   NASW is committed to advancing policies and practices that will improve the status and wellbeing of all lesbian, gay,  bisexual, and transgender persons.
