Richard Jones Honored by Metropolitan Family Services

Jan 19, 2012

Richard Jones, center, former president and CEO of Chicago-based Metropolitan Family Services, stands outside one of the organization’s campus buildings, which was recently named in his honor to recognize 13 years of leadership for the organization that serves the critical needs of families in the metropolitan area.

Jones is joined by his mother, Wilhelmina Manns, right, a retired social work professor at Howard University; and his sister, Shelly Johnson. Jones, who was honored in November by the NASW Illinois Chapter’s statewide conference with a Lifetime Achievement Award, has also served NASW on a national level as president and chairman of NASW Assurance Services, Inc., and as a delegate for the 2010 Social Work Congress.

Jones was a co-leader of the People to People social work delegations to Russia and Brazil as well. WKYC-TV in Cleveland announced last year that Jones was appointed as Cuyahoga County’s new administrator of income maintenance and child support services. He will oversee the Division of Employment and Family Services and the county’s Child Support Enforcement Agency.
