Calendar Year (CY) 2023 Proposed Rule for Medicare Physician Fee Schedule

On July 7, 2022, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released the proposed rule of the Physician Fee Schedule that announced proposed policy and practice changes for Medicare Part B payments beginning January 1, 2023. The proposed changes may impact social work practice and reimbursement in various settings and that of other Medicare providers. NASW will be providing comments to CMS on the proposed physician fee schedule and encourages social workers to submit individual comments especially in the areas of telehealth, behavioral health, chronic pain management services, and the Quality Payment Program. When commenting, please refer to file code CMS-1770-P.

Comments are due no later than 5 p.m. on September 6, 2022, and may be submitted in one of the following ways:
