NASW 2013 National Election Results

Jul 3, 2013

On Friday, June 21, the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) certified the results of its 2013 National Elections. In accordance with the NASW Bylaws, NASW Board Secretary Lawanna Barron presented the results at the Annual Meeting of the Members in Washington D.C.

On July 1, the NASW Board of Directors welcomed eight new members, including the President-Elect, and four new members of the National Committee on Nominations and Leadership Identification (NCNLI).

“This is an exciting time to join the NASW leadership.  We have many challenges ahead, but our newest Board members have fresh ideas and excellent skills to help advance the Association,” said NASW President Jeane Anastas, PhD, LMSW. “I especially look forward to working with Darrell Wheeler, PhD, MPH, our President-Elect, in preparation for a smooth presidential transition in July 2014.”

NASW CEO Angelo McClain, PhD, LICSW, added, “Our incoming Board members bring a wealth of experience and knowledge that will help us build on previous successes and identify new opportunities for growth. Their contributions will shape the future of NASW and the profession.”
